#GivePink This Giving Tuesday In Collaboration With Breast Cancer Care

As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Pink Ribbon and of course todays date which happens to be Giving Tuesday, We are celebrating everything pink!

I was very honoured in becoming one of many ambassadors for 'The Big Pink' campaign this year alongside Breast Cancer Care. As it stands, Breast Cancer Care is the only UK Charity which supplies full care and support for people living with Breast Cancer.

When it comes to Cancer, It has been something has run in my family for decades. Back in 2000. My Grandmother sadly passed away from Cancer after she became terminally ill. My mum has also battled cancer twice already and once was actually battling with cancer when she was pregnant with me. Because of this, It has definitely been something that has always played in the back of my mind thinking there may be a chance that one day I might contract the disease myself.

Breast Cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK with around 60,000 people diagnosed every year. During breast cancer awareness month last month, around 5,000 people alone will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

I was completely shocked to find out that as it stands,

1 in 8 women will be affected by Breast Cancer in the UK.

As a young woman...well at 24, I wouldn't have ever thought that I would need to start 'checking my melons' but since working alongside Breast Cancer Care, I have really took time out to look after myself, get an understanding and I'm now trying to raise as much awareness amongst young people as I can.

For some they may feel too embarrassed or frightened but it really is important that we do look for signs and we shouldn't ever feel ashamed. Taking a couple of minutes out your day to check your breasts wont do any harm and could in fact save your life.

Early detection is vital and it's important to know the signs and symptoms to look out for:

  • a change in the size of the breast
  • a lump or area that feels thicker than the rest of the breast
  • a change in skin texture such as puckering or dimpling (like the skin of an orange)
  • redness or rash on the skin and/or around the nipple
  • your nipple has become pulled in or looks different, for example, changed its position or shape
  • the liquid that comes from the nipple without squeezing
  • pain in your breast or your armpit that’s where all or almost all of the time
  • a swelling in your armpit or around your collarbone

Since 1973, Breast Cancer Care have helped to provide both clinical and emotional support to thousands of people who have been affected by Breast Cancer, bring people living with Breast Cancer together and continue to make to sure that no person living with Breast Cancer is ever alone.

Making A House a Home With Miss Holly Golightly

Hello You Gorgeous Bunch!

Since moving house earlier this year, I have totally fallen in love with the land of homeware.
I am constantly on the hunt for new and exciting designers and brands to incorporate into our home. Recently, Photo Wall got in touch and kindly gifted me a canvas from their website to style in my home. When choosing pieces for our sitting room, there were so many wonderful prints and wall murals to choose from!

As the biggest Audrey Hepburn fan that I am, I really just couldn't resist this gorgeous Holly Golightly print from of course the iconic film 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. Luckily, Brad gave me the green light and let me take over the design and now this room has a real feminine touch.
  Yipeee!

Photo wall is a Swedish brand which prides themselves on their quality of products. When ordering my canvas print it was super quick and easy to navigate around the website. All I had to do was choose a print, customize the dimensions of choice and voila we were done!  Fancy making a canvas of your own? No problem! With Photowall, you can upload and crop your own images onto the website and put into a canvas or wall mural and have your own snaps and memories to share in your home.

When my canvas arrived I was totally over the moon!
It was easy to assemble (I chose the D.I.Y option) and was up on the wall within minutes. Now it proudly stands in the middle of my sitting room and I just can't get enough of it!!

Cocktails anyone??

As it is black Friday Photo Wall currently have a 25% Promo Code 'blackfriday17'

which can be used up until the 26th of November and also get free UK delivery.

Check out their website here to find your new standout print.
